HOPE IS HERE: DAY TO DAY

Hope is here

Hope can be found…

  • In my everyday circumstances

  • During my times of crisis

  • Even when I wonder about me

  • Through me when others need hope

My everyday circumstances are…

  • My relationships

  • Job, tasks, to-do’s

  • My health & well-being

What is hope?

wish – the strength of the person's desire

confident expectation – the strength of God’s faithfulness

Hope is a Promise

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance (build) that can never perish, spoil or fade.

This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. – 1 Peter 1:3-6 NIV

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; - 1 Peter 1:13-15 NIV

… your faith and hope are in God

love one another deeply, from the heart.

…you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” – 1 Peter 1:21-25 NIV

Helpful truths about our everyday circumstances:

  • My everyday circumstances can feel permanent, but they are temporary.

  • My everyday circumstances can feel like they define me, but they are not my identity.

  • My everyday circumstances can feel like they control me, but they don’t.

  • My everyday circumstances matter, but my life is the sum total of all my days.
